What’s Tokyo International Comic Festival? The first “Tokyo International Comic Festival” was held on November 18, 2012, and was supported by the embassies of seven countries, Cultural Exchange Bureaux, several publishers, some manga artists and many others.
Manga in Japan, Bande Dessinée in France, American Comic in U.S.A, etc… Our hope for the future is to provide a platform within Japan where people all around the world, who have an interest in comic and manga culture, can freely exchange their opinions and ideas.
Luckily, we will be able to hold the fourth event this year in cooperation with Comitia. We are hoping to succeed in establishing our name in the domain of manga festivals such as “Comic-Con International” in the U.S.A or “Festival international de la bande dessinée d’Angoulême” in France.
Japan as a well-known “Manga Kingdom”, Tokyo International Comic Festival should be the one to offer such an opportunity for all manga enthusiasts to come together. We expect more to greet more artists and publishers than last year.
We are sincerely looking forward to seeing you at the Tokyo Big Sight in November 15, 2015

Comitia is the exhibition and marketplace for original creations. It provides a place where both professional and amateur comic artists can offer their self-published books. It is a stage for artists to freely express their unique and novel imagination through their publications as well as it is a treasure-hunting place for readers who are not satisfied with off-the-shelf books and want to explore new works.

About the entry fee: Entry to the Tokyo International Comic Festival is free with 1,000 yen purchase of “Tia’s Magazine,” the entrance pass to Comitia. Children elementary school age and younger are admitted free if accompanied by an adult, one child per adult. After entering Comitia, the Tokyo International Comic Festival even may be entered and exited freely.
